Cote d’Ivoire

The church in Cote d’Ivoire was growing very strong and fast in the 1990s.  All this was feared lost when multiple coups took place starting in 1999 and then the country fell into civil war.  The situation remained quite unstable until 2007.  When the coups started all missionaries were evacuated and as of yet none have returned to take up a permanent position.  Some have made visits.

Rev. Tadé Désiré had some training in France with Rev. Dr. Wilbert Kreiss (former president of the Lutheran Church of France and Belgium). Rev. Tadé Désiré is also a former professor at the seminary in Togo.  His love for the church and his country led him to return to his home country in 2007.  He has repeatedly asked for pastors trained in the confessions to come and bring catechisms and train their leaders.

They currently have five students at the seminary in Togo;
